Jen & Mike’s Altadena Home

What has always struck when walking into Mike & Jen’s home (the one they share with their 3 sons) besides the beautiful black and white photo prints displayed throughout, is the immediate warmth you feel upon stepping through their front door. It’s as if everything has its own meaningful place and it all works together so beautifully that you can’t help but instantly feel at home. The built-in bookcase is full of literature & lovely collections adorn the shelves. Each piece seems to hold its own meaning like a vintage doll or a collection of heart shaped rocks placed behind the sofa. The colors all blend seamlessly throughout and accentuate framed art pieces. A hallway to the boys’ bedrooms is quite special as it features various drawings and artwork collected throughout the years of their youth. Each piece highlighting their unique individuality and growth throughout the years.

The dining room is my favorite with its large wooden table and bench seating that beckons for a large gathering of family and friends. Oh, and most noticeable is a pair of beautiful paintings by artist Suzie Pak that hang on the wall. Not to be outdone by the rest of the house is eldest son Leo’s room, which in no way looks like it’s occupied by a High Schooler. (He’d definitely make the ideal college dorm mate!)

Next year we hope to have a peek into this family’s home during the Holidays as Jen’s displays of vintage finds from her parents place are truly something to behold. There is nothing quite like traditions that pass down from one generation to the next.

Thank you Jen, Mike and the entire family for letting us have a peek inside your lovely Altadena home!
