Long Weekend Libations & Cocktails

As the long weekend approaches we thought we’d share two of our favorite summer cocktails. Each of these drinks is refreshingly bubbly and the perfect lake or beachside cocktail. First up is a drink our friends introduced us to when they recently returned from Italy. It’s a popular Summer refresher overseas, considered something to whet the appetite before a meal.

The second is a Moscow Mule. Yes, an old favorite, but we thought we’d remind you anyway.

Enjoy the last long weekend before Summer comes to an end + please remember to make sure and drink responsibly.

Italian Spritzer

Italian Spritzer

Ingredients:

3 ounces of Prosecco

1 ½ ounces of Aperol (Italian Liqueur)

Splash of soda or sparkling water, we like keeping it Italian and use San Pellegrino)

Squeeze of orange, and a slice for garnish.

Fill a highball or large wine glass ¼ full with ice cubes to just chill the drink and not water it down. Pour in the Prosecco and then top with Aperol. Squeeze a small amount of orange into the glass. Add mineral water and gently stir together. Garnish with orange slice.

Italian Spritzer

Moscow Mule

Ingredients:

½ ounce of lime juice

2 ounces of vodka

4 to 6 ounces of ginger beer

Moscow Mule

Squeeze lime juice into a Moscow Mule Copper Mug and add ice. Pour vodka and fill with cold ginger beer (we like Cock-Bull ginger beer or FeverTree Premium ginger beer for a lighter version). Garnish with a squeeze of lime.

Hi Kelly. Thank you for reminding everyone to drink responsibly. That’s very important. I do not drink myself but I know a lot of people who do and are not so responsible.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
