Tropical Basil Fruit Smoothie

Smoothies have become a staple in our household, and not just during summer. They’ve become a breakfast favorite and a great way of infusing a healthy amount of fruit and vegetables into a meal. Sometimes these creations are a cornucopia of ingredients that blend together so surprisingly wonderful that they just have to be shared. This Tropical Fruit based smoothie is definitely one of those drinks!  It’s not hard to imagine lying by the beach while sipping this drink.  The basil brings it up a notch!

Tropical Fruit Basil Smoothie:

1 ¼ cup of Coconut Milk (unsweetened vanilla preferably)

3 slices of fresh Mango or ½ cup of frozen Mango

½ Cup of fresh frozen Pineapple

4 slices of Frozen Banana

2 Basil Leaves (large)

½ tsp. fresh ground Flaxseed

½ – 1 tsp. of Maple Syrup

Pour ingredients in powerful blender (such as Vitamix) in order listed above and blend.

Makes slightly more than 2 – 8 oz. glasses.
