Tim Biskup Residence

When you first drive up to the property in La Canada, CA where artist Tim Biskup resides, you wonder how in the world he found this little oasis outside the hustle and bustle of every day life. It’s a stunning 1953 mid-century modern home designed and built by Eugene Weston III that feels completely secluded and private. Weston was a third generation architect who, along with Neutra and Lautner, introduced designs that influenced countless imitators for years to come. This place was among the first homes he built in La Canada (the neighborhood has approximately 7 others) and is close to the only one that you will find as in tact to the original design.

Biskup’s home is filled with art, albums, books, vintage toys and tons of personality. Collections that blend well with the artwork that Tim himself creates. It also houses his art studio which is its own wonderland of individuality complete with canvas works as small as 3”x3” and as large as 8 ft. x 12 ft.

But, the thing that is most appealing about this home is that it’s lived in and lived in well. It’s warm and inviting despite it’s modern undertones and most of all: colorful.
